Safeguarding

Ditton Nursery School is committed to the safeguarding of all pupils in our care. We aim to develop and maintain a ‘culture of vigilance’ to ensure all children are protected and feel safe, and that signs and symptoms of abuse are picked up.

Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. We recognise that nursery staff play a particularly important role, as they are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help and support for children to prevent concerns escalating. We will take prompt and effective action in order to address any child protection concerns that arise. We will maintain and continue to enhance a positive whole-school safeguarding ethos.

All staff receive regular training and maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here.’ When concerned about the welfare of a child, staff members must always act in the best interests of the child.
